Alma Viva is the newest wine – and the first sparkling wine – from Les Vignerons Estezargues. Made from Grenache Blanc, Clairet, and Roussanne grape varieties, it is produced using the Charmat method (second fermentation in a pressure tank). Part of the base wine comes from the maceration, which gives it its wonderful orange color and, in its mouthfeel, is reminiscent of a light "skin contact" wine. The aroma balances delicate tartness, herbal spice, and floral nuances. Added to this is a refreshing, fine carbonation. A sparkling wine perfect for picnics and uncomplicated drinking pleasure.
